The purpose of this article is to assist employees migrating their Royal Electric (Royal) phone to a personal account.

Here are the steps:

  1. Identify which type of migration you will be doing - Personal Phone, Separate Work Phone or Personal Phone with two numbers.  All the details about each option are listed below.
  2. Fill out this form - https://wkf.ms/3COOZKT
  3. The IT Department will reach out to you within 5 business days to verify all the information, make sure your work number is eligible for migration, and schedule a time for the migration if necessary.

Device Requirements

For all three options the device must meet specific requirements for applications and security.  If your current device doesn't meet these requirements then it's recommended you do the Separate Work Phone scenario and get a device that meets these requirements.

  • Device must be physically functional.
  • As of June 2025 here are the operating system requirements - iOS devices they need to support iOS 17.0 and Android needs to support 9.0
  • Jailbroken or rooted devices are not supported
  • Devices must support Push Notifications for Duo to work properly.
  • Devices will require at minimum a 4 digit PIN code

    3. GoogleFi has affordable plans - https://fi.google.com/about/plans; Most users in the company don’t use much data on their phones so starting with the Flexible plan might work.
    4. Common lower cost recommendation will depend on your area and what network you want, but some cheap options include Cricket Wireless, Visible Wireless, US Mobile, and Mint Mobile, all have options under $30 for what most users will need.
  • Fill out the BYOD Form and select Separate Work Phone with number port.
  • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRANSFER THE NUMBER WITHOUT IT ACCOUNT INFORMATION
