If you've used the VPN before and have suddenly stopped receiving Duo prompts, please read these first:

Have you gotten a new phone recently? A new phone number? If so the IT team needs to link your new device/number to your Duo account.

If you do not hit either of these qualifications, please continue reading.

The VPN is used to connect to the Royal main network when remote.

The VPN goes by 2 names, depending on what version update you are on. It will be PanGPA or GlobalProtect.

Once the program has started it will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen as this symbol

Clicking that symbol will bring this up. This is your basic login page. Make sure the Portal is set to gp.royalelect.com

When all is working right, clicking connect will then start the process. If you have never signed onto the VPN on your current computer, it will ask you for your login credentials. These are the beginning of your email without the @royalelect.com part, and the same password you use to log into your computer every day. If you have signed in before, it will skip straight to the Duo prompt. You will receive a Duo prompt to your phone, and when you approve it you will be able to access the Royal network.

What to do if it doesn't log in:

There are 2 primary ways this can fail. If the symptoms are when you click it nothing happens, or you click and it starts to work but then fails after a couple seconds, do the following:

Open up the menu in the top-right of the login, then click Settings

From here you are going to want to Sign Out. Then the next time you click 'Connect' you will be prompted again for you credentials

If you click Connect and all you receive is 'Finding the best available gateway':

Check your phone. You are likely missing the Duo prompt. Some phones can be accidentally silenced to Duo alerts, so open up your app and try connecting again, waiting for the prompt to approve it.
