Prerequisites

  • Know your iTunes username and password.  If you are using itunes@royalelect.com a backup and restore will not be possible and you will have to start your new iPad as a new device and you can skip the Existing Device section.
  • iOS device is up to date.  Go to Settings > General > Software Update

 

Existing Device

  •  Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Backup (or Settings > iCloud > Backup), then turn on iCloud Backup.


New Device

  1. Power on the device
  2. Select your Language and Location 
  3. Join a wi-fi network. 
  4. At the Apps & Data screen select ‘Restore from Backup’
  5. If you see the message ‘Royal Electric will automatically configure your iPad’ then you can SKIP the Enroll in Meraki step. 
  6. Log in your iTunes account. See notes below about iTunes accounts. 
  7. At the Configure a Passcode screen press the Configurations button and select a 4 digit PIN. Enter in a 4 digit PIN. 
  8. Enable Siri if you wish 
  9. Configure Touch if you wish 
  10. Enabling Sharing on both Apple and Developers. 
  11. Install Meraki if applicable 
  12. You will start getting prompted for credentials 
    • If the pop up references iTunes account then this is your iTunes password and will need to be entered for each application that needs to get installed.
    • If the pop up references Royal Exchange then this is your Royal computer/email password and should only need to get entered once.
